On Saturday, May 2, 2026, at ESSI Nyamirambo School, located at the Islamic Cultural Center, the week of remembrance for former staff, teachers, and students who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi began. The school administration also provided support to a vulnerable genocide survivor living in Nyamirambo Sector. This activity took place in Cyivugiza Cell. Representatives of IBUKA were present, as well as the Executive Secretary of Cyivugiza Cell. From the school, the Deputy Head in charge of discipline, the school secretary, teachers, and students from the unity and resilience club also participated. The closing ceremony of this week is scheduled for Thursday, May 7, 2026.
