On May 13, 2026, the administration, teachers, students, and all staff of the Musab Ibn Umair Elementary School in Kirehe District visited the Nyarubuye Genocide Memorial , commemorating the victims of the 1994 Tutsi genocide. The memorial is located in Kirehe District. The purpose of the visit was to learn about, understand, and explain the history of the 1994 Tutsi genocide. The visit was conducted in an orderly and disciplined manner.
