On Friday, January 16, 2026, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko inaugurated the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Vocational Training Center in Mbour. This modern facility will promote employability and local development.
Built through cooperation between Senegal and the United Arab Emirates via the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the Center offers young people training programs tailored to the needs of the job market: automotive mechanics, refrigeration and air conditioning, accounting and management, industrial computing, and networks.
In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized that technical and vocational training is a strategic lever in the country transformation. He stated that "the Senegal we are building is no longer a centralized, concentrated, and unequal Senegal," thus reiterating the Government's commitment to building an inclusive and balanced model by 2050.
